I’m obviously not much of a blogger, since this is my first post in 2 years… I mainly use this site as a front-end to my flickr pix anyway.

I was lame & didn’t post anything in November, & figured that this was my last chance for 2005.   I hope that everyone had a great Christmas & will have a fantastic 2006! I can’t leave without providing some kind of family update, so…  Our latest geek family activity is geocaching–& I highly recommend it.  Haven’t heard of it?  Read this on Wikipedia.  Then head over to geocaching.com & sign up.  Of course, you’ll need a GPS device, so if you don’t have one you might want to stop at Garmin & pick one out.  Recently, we’ve been hitting caches located in Conway Robinson State Forest (which I had never heard of until I found it searching for geocaches).  It’s a pretty cool state park that has a Civi-war era unfinished railroad running through it (which further east was used to define battle lines during the 2nd battle of Manassas)

I’ve downloaded the Flock Developer Preview to try out.  It is a new “social web browser” built on top of Firefox, and is supposed to have tight integration with WordPress, Flickr, & del.icio.us.  Drag & drop blogging, drag & drop Flickr pix, online bookmarks… All stuff that a blogging, picture-taking, local bookmark-hating geek like me should love… Stay tuned.

Natural Bridge - Virginia’s Natural Wonder Last weekend we took the kids “camping” in our RV to Natural Bridge & had perfect Virginia October weather. We camped right on the James River & were able to spend some time hiking & exploring. Highlights were the haunted hayride & the Virginia Safari Park.
